I had a very dear friend, who lived with her family in Germany for a while while her husband was working over there. She traveled home (The States) alone once- and only once- with her three kids- no husband. Her middle son was three at the time. In the midst of the customs check, air security, baggage clearance, etc etc, her middle son starts a tantrum- the mother tantrum to end all tantrums. Funny thing about him, was when he had tantrums....he stripped. Totally. Like naked in the buff. So there she is with custom agents, security, her other two bewildered children, bags, bottles, car seats... and a screaming toddler, running down the airport walkways, ripping off his clothes as he ran and she following, grabbing the odd shoe, t-shirt, undies...and trying to catch and capture his slippery wriggling, enraged self. All while trying to look composed and nonchalant, as if this were common. Ahh toddlers, tantrums and the blessing of not traveling globally alone with them in tow. Is she undressing in her tantrum?
